Northanger Abbey Catherine Morland Is 17, a fan of Gothic novels and in training to become a "heroine". She is also one of 10 children vying for the attention of their father, a clergyman. When Catherine is invited by her rich neighbours to accompany them to Bath, England, she happily agrees to enjoy a winter of theatre, balls and social engagements. It is there she meets Isabella, who quickly becomes her new best friend, and the dashing Henry Tilney, whose parents live at Northanger Abbey with its mysterious suite of rooms that no one ever enters.
