A biography of an extraordinary woman who saw the last days of the British Raj, hunted tigers in Nepal with Maharajas and later worked as Ava Gardner's personal assistant. Tragedy struck when she was widowed with two small children, forcing her to reinvent herself in Berkeley, California as a radical 1960s woman of the world. She protested against the Vietnam War, espoused free love and grew dope in her back yard. Her final decades were spent in a menage-a-trois before tragedy brought that to an end as well.
