In addition, throughout the book you will find feature spreads dedicated to some of the most talented and innovative tattoo artists working around the world, with photographs showing the progression of pieces from design or outline to finished tattoo. Product Information

Russ Thorne (author). Russ Thorne's experience of body art began with a tiny design from an even tinier high street shop, inked to the sounds of David Bowie. He was so nervous he didn't even do the countdown bit in 'Space Oddity'. Since then he's gone on to collect bigger and better pieces and has written extensively about tattoos and tattooing in books such as Blood and Ink and Spiritual Tattoos, as well as contributing regularly to Skin Deep magazine and meeting some generous, talented (and delightfully mad) artists along the way. He lives in York with his wife, who patiently listens to his tattoo ramblings, and an attention-seeking Jack Russell (who doesn't).
